If you go down to the woods today …

… be sure to take a whole bunch of photographs to scrap using KI’s Love Elsie Forrest collection!  Carrin created this fantastically textured layout using elements from the Forest range using the fabric paper as the background and Forrest ribbon as a photo matt, bending the ribbon at each edge to add a little depth to the background.  Determined to use the chipboard frame Carrin cut across it diagonally in order for it to fit around her large photograph.

Carrins Tip for Today: add your journaling directly onto your photograph. "I deliberately left a white space at the top and bottom of my image during printing so it could be used it for my journaling."

Barbe-a-Papa

Francine used the KI Memories La Di Dah range of paper and embellishments to create this bright whimsical page. “I love seeing the cotton candy man in the city and was really happy to get this photo!” Francine added glitter glue to the felt embellishments to give them the cotton candy effect and put a little sparkle on her layout.

Francines Tip for Today: Use your embellishments to mimic elements in your photograph.  In this example Francine has added the hearts at the top to look as though there are extra balloons floating off the page.

Bloom'ing KI Cute!

These fabulously fresh Bloom papers from KI Memories capture the colours of summer just perfectly.  The Bloom collection has a  range of fantastic coordinating embellishments including the delicious "softies" Debbie has used on this layout of her youngest daughter.

Kibloom001

Debbies Tip for Today:  Using a black or white journaling pen "doodle" round the edge of your embellishments and alphas to add definition to your page and make the elements POP.

We've got a whole lot of layering going on ....

To create this layout of her gorgeous wee man, Heather layered many of the tags and die cuts from the Piggy Tales Mulan collection, all on and around the photograph which is sitting on a mount board frame.

Heather_mulan_lo_myboy

Heathers Tip for Today : A good way to use all those matching tags is to layer them around your photo thereby creating lots of dimension on your layout.

Well recycling cardboard toilet roll tubes seems to be a big hit with the Dream Team lately, this time Oddbjorg created these gorgeous napkin wraps for her summer party. And what paper line could be more perfect for a summer party than Piggy Tales Cinderella collection. To create the napkin wraps Oddbjorg cut the roll into three pieces, and then glued on paper, distressed and curled the edges a little bit to make it stand out more, and added layers of paper and ribbon for dimension.

Oddbjorgs Tip for Today : Add a decorative edge of your projects with scalloped scissors, punchers or scissors.

Hey hey, I wanna be a rock star!!!

Anne knew just what photos of her daughter she wanted to scrap when she first saw these Piggy Tales Twinkle Twinkle papers.  This 9 photo layout of a wannabe rock star uses dimension in a number of ways. Using a mix of colour and black and white photographs, sanding the edges of some and doodling on others, raising certain elements on foam pads, using sparkly rub-ons and adding glitter to the title, twisted ribbon and rik rak and the KI lace cardstock take the eyes up and down and over the page.

While this little Piggy would love to go to the ball...

... she's far to busy doing the laundry! The Piggy Tales Cinderella collection has fun and bright colours :- perfect for your summer layouts and projects. Oddbjorg created this layout around a photo of a “laundry” bicycle in the village Mbe, in Cameroon . “The only bicycle we saw, it was owned by the whole village”.

Oddnjorgs tip for today: curl your ribbon to add dimension and a fun look to your layout, then glue or sew it on your page .

And this little piggy got creative with Mulan!

Heather created this slide book using these lovely Piggy Tales Mulan papers cataloguing photographs and events that make being part a family fun and a loving place to be.  Slide books are made of white chipboard, and make a great educational tool, scrapbook album, gift and more. Hide pictures of your child’s favorite toy, or a picture of daddy or a secret message behind a slide. Includes templates that make covering pages of the book easy.

This little Piggy ...

.. is just fabulous for creating layouts and projects!  Michele created this page as a gift for a friend using these super cute photos of her friends little boy and Piggy Tales Tin Soldier kit. These Piggy Tales papers are just perfect for a little man layout as the colours and patterns are just right for scrapping pics of little boys. As the papers are colourfully patterned, Michele used white cardstock for the background to give the layout a fresh look, and painted two big corners with black acrylic to make a bold statement.

Micheles tip for today : If you want to use co-ordinating rubons but are worried they wont show up on a patterned page, rub them onto white cardstock then cut out and adhere to your layout.  (as Michele has done in this layout example)

Ann created this door hanger for her almost teenage Diva, using the Piggy Tales Twinkle Twinkle Little Star kit and an IN/OUT moving feature with the piggy tales sliding doors. Door hanger template was cut from foam to the same width as the sliding door, and covered in small guitar paper. A circular chipboard barn door fits perfectly around the door handle, embellished with gems and glitter and a guitar bard door used as a mount for the alphabet letters. Ann added a chipboard star covered in Doodlebug glitter, an assortment of twinkle twinkle ribbons and glossy accents to the title letters and the dotty paper covering the sliding door for a textured, dazzling home decor project!! The Diva is so in!

Time for a lil' Friday Funkiness

Sabrina loved working with the Prima Dude range to create this funky little layout of her son.  The vibrant colours and geometric designs are fantastic for creating fabulously fun layouts and projects!

Recycling is fast becoming a way of life for us all and Tracie is always looking for new ways to recycle household throw away items.  Having been inspired by one of her Norwegian Scrapping pals, Tracie created this quirky minibook using cardboard toilet roll tubes decorated with embellishments and patterned papers from Prima Marketing Dude collection.

Announcing ...

... the first of our Dreamie Sweet Retreats:- Friday 12th to Sunday 14th September. And boy are we getting excited already about what we have in store for YOU! You may want to attend a Dreamie Sweet retreat for the workshops (there is a choice of 12) or to be able to use specialised and expensive equipment, however, (and we quote the infamous BBC article Surviving the Scrapbooking Retreat here) the word 'retreat' is one the prime factors - it is not uncommon for spa services to be involved, and at the very least, no childcare or housework is happening. With that thought in mind we’ve selected Wokefield Park in Reading as the venue for our first retreat.

The Dream Team teachers we have lined up for this event are Ann Freeman, Morag Cutts with Guest Designer the fabulous Lucy Folch.

More details regarding the event are to be released next week … in the meantime you may just want to mark the date in your diary!
